I said it before but I’ll say it again, Florida is home to some of the most unique & beautiful wedding venues in the country. The Sunshine State boasts a wide range of venue styles. Many are rich in history, but all are gorgeous! After shooting weddings in the Jacksonville and St Augustine areas, I can say with certainty that there is a venue for every bride and every style.
Does Art Deco appeal to you? How about a venue with a fascinating past life? The Clay Theatre in Green Cove Springs is a former movie theater, built in 1937 and converted into a wedding venue this century. There are modernized touches throughout the building along with little nods to the building’s 1930s history. One of my favorite features is the marquee sign they kept on the front entrance! This has leant its hand to many newlyweds as they make their grand exit from their reception. Who doesn’t dream of seeing their name up in lights, especially on their wedding day?
The Treasury is another choice that didn’t begin as a wedding venue. In another life, this unbelievably glamorous venue was a bank. Its former vault is still operational, but has been repurposed as a bar used for grand entrances from newlyweds making their way to their receptions. This place is absolutely dripping with timeless elegance and details of a bygone era– the Roaring ‘20s. The Treasury offers several package options for couples seeking to book their event, ranging from 40-200 guests. It’s truly a sight to behold!
This Florida wedding venue is a little slice of Heaven! This 1800s farmhouse is nestled in the heart of a citrus grove that also boasts centuries-old oak trees covered in Spanish Moss. If you’re hoping to find an outdoor venue that feels welcoming like a home away from home while maintaining an air of elegance, La Venture Grove is it! They host everything from micro-weddings (50 guests and under) to guest lists up to 175. Those golden hour bridal portraits overlooking the river with Spanish Moss surrounding you are truly something magical.
This historic Orange Park mansion is the best of both worlds. The grounds are covered in massive oak trees dripping with Spanish Moss (is there anything that screams Southern Romance more than that?) and views of the river. Meanwhile, the mansion itself is perfect for a reception with an Old Hollywood feel to it. Wrought iron gates, fountains, marble floors– this venue has it all!
It never gets old arriving at these venues to shoot a wedding and being in awe! The history, the beauty, the attention to details– there’s truly a venue for everyone!
