There is something so romantic and intimate about heading to the beach to marry the love of your life, just the two of you. That is exactly what Jessica & Branden chose for their romantic beach elopement ceremony in St. Augustine, Florida, and I was elated to get to be their guest of honor.
Jessica wore a beautiful flowy, white dress with pleated flutter sleeves and held a bouquet of fresh greenery and baby’s breath. Can you see the blue ribbon she used as her ‘something blue’ tied around the starfish? How thoughtful and appropriate for a sea-side ceremony!
I love hearing the back stories for all of my couples, and Branden & Jessica’s is a classic the guy gets the girl story! Branden pursued his bride for a long while before Jessica relented and the rest is history. Those details alone made their personal vows that much sweeter. While large weddings with equally large guest lists are fun, there’s something to be said about the intimacy of an elopement. Couples are able to focus on their soon-to-be spouses without all the added pressure of 150 guests observing them from their seats. This day was entirely about Jessica and Branden and it was beautiful!
With no one else around except the bride and groom, their officiant, and yours truly, Branden and Jessica exchanged vows and pledged their love to each other at Vilano Beach. Surrounded by the sea, the sand and beautiful blue sky, Branden & Jessica couldn’t have asked for more beautiful scenery for their big day.
Following the ceremony, we headed to downtown St. Augustine and captured photos of the newlyweds at iconic STA landmarks. These were not your mother’s bridal portraits and I loved every minute of it! This part of the session had a feel to it like I was tagging along on a date with these two after their wedding.
We strolled downtown near The White Room and before making a few other stops along the way. We snapped a few shots at the marina, followed by Lion’s Bridge, and we even stopped at Peace Pies on Aviles Street. The contrast between their wedding clothes against the bright tables outside the restaurant is so fun, isn’t it? Branden twirled his new bride around on the sidewalks of St. Augustine, they laughed they joked, they stole a few kisses, and we got some great shots for the newlyweds!
The love these two have for each other radiated through every smile they shared on their wedding day. Looking back on the gallery now, I can’t help but smile right along with the happy couple! Jessica & Branden, it was truly an honor to capture every moment of your elopement for you to look back on for years to come. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to photograph such a personal ceremony and I wish blessings upon blessings on your marriage!
