Florida is well known for its sandy beaches and warm weather. What may come as a surprise is the amount of hidden gems for weddings and events. I had the privilege of capturing Skylor & Kyle’s La Venture Grove wedding in Switzerland, FL, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was perfection.
A little slice of paradise, La Venture Grove is the stuff of fairytales for weddings! Nestled in amongst a citrus grove and oak trees absolutely dripping with Spanish moss sets an 1800s farmhouse turned wedding venue. Between the amenities they provide and the gorgeous view of the St. John’s river, it’s perfect for a touch of Southern romance for future nuptials.
For this particular La Venture Grove wedding, I was associate shooting for Shelbi Ann Imagery. I’m so glad Skylor & Kyle were agreeable to the arrangement! This couple was so much fun and I loved the colorful floral arrangements and décor touches, it was right up my alley. From the citrus accents on their cake to the matching invitations, everything tied together beautifully with their citrus grove location.
I knew the ceremony area would be swoon-worthy, but I was also impressed with the bridal suite and the main house in general. Everything is so timeless and elegantly decorated! Every corner makes for such lovely backdrops for photos. The charming original hardwood floors, and windows paired nicely with Skylor’s gorgeous wedding gown. The bridal suite is a flawless marriage between antique farmhouse and modern, and I’m a huge fan of the shiplap dressing area.
I love the elegance La Venture Grove offers while still somehow making you feel like you’re right at home! The photos of Kyle & Skylor together on the swing are a prime example. This venue is very warm and welcoming! The pavilion that the venue offers is open and airy, and just an all around ideal location for receptions. It’s impossible to not eat, drink, and be merry when you’re celebrating at Heaven on Earth!
My favorite shots from the day are the ones I captured of this amazing couple on the dock, next to the St. John’s river. (I also love the shots of Kyle getting emotional, how sweet was that?) Carving out one-on-one time with each other is so important on your wedding day. It also makes for such intimate photos to look back on later.
It certainly shows that Skylor & Kyle are so deeply in love and their happiness on their wedding day was contagious. You can’t get much more romantic than golden hour on the water with the person with whom you’re going to spend the rest of your life!
Skylor & Kyle, your wedding day was incredible. I enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet the two of you and celebrate your marriage! Thank you for trusting me as your associate photographer. Congratulations on your marriage and I wish you both blessings on your life together.
