A Neutral Christmas Wedding at The Carriage House

I was honored to join Krystal & Simon as their photographer at their wedding at The Carriage House located in St. Augustine, Florida. If you’ve never seen this venue, it’s got something for every style from cozy and intimate to more formal events.

The string lights added such a warm, inviting atmosphere to the neutral Christmas vibes Krystal & Simon wanted for their ceremony and reception. Everything was beautiful! Krystal’s lace dress was elegant and feminine, and did you notice it has pockets?! Her bouquet was made up of neutral blooms and fresh greenery was draped in the reception area– perfect for adding an understated holiday feel. This event was as timeless as the love between the bride and groom.

A Florida Love Story

This love story begins in an unconventional way and not exactly love at first sight. These two met at a friend’s BBQ after much encouragement from a best friend’s mother. Krystal’s friend’s mother had built Simon up as this tall, handsome, Australian man and she was determined to have the two meet. However, their first encounter left much to be desired.

Krystal had to leave to get to a class she was teaching. Imagine her surprise when a friend texted her and mentioned Simon had asked for her number to get to know her better. Krystal begrudgingly agreed to meet him for drinks and Simon more than redeemed himself. Twelve years later, and they’re still going strong with their dogs in tow.

St. Augustine Wedding

Like so many others, Krystal & Simon had planned to tie the knot in 2020 but the world had other plans. This wedding and their marriage was well worth the wait. It can be so easy to get caught up in the details and making sure everything is perfect on your big day, but Krystal & Simon were so fun (and funny!) and had the best time with their guests!

Two families truly became one right before our eyes. Simon’s mother and brother were able to be present for the wedding via livestream. Since his mother couldn’t be physically present, Krystal’s mother stood in for her during the mother/son dance. Let me tell you, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place! It was a heartwarming experience to see technology used to bridge the physical distance between loved ones to still be able to participate in such a milestone event.

Krystal & Simon, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your long-awaited wedding and getting to know you both! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.
