Can we just address the elephant in the room for a sec? This recession has hit us all hard. I understand that it’s made it difficult for brides-to-be planning a wedding on a budget. There are ways to cut corners and things that in the long run you’re probably not going to regret skipping. My expert opinion? Quality photos aren’t one of those. When it comes to the question of wedding photography: splurge or save? Splurge!
The reality is you only get one wedding day. There are no do-overs for the first time your spouse sees you in your dress, or the tears in your father’s eyes when he gives you away. You get one first dance as newlyweds and one opportunity to exchange your vows. Those are the moments and emotions I’m hired to capture.
I’ve sadly been contacted by brides after their weddings asking for assistance when the photographer they chose didn’t deliver and it’s heartbreaking. Yes, you can put your dress back on. We can even return to the venue to get a few bridal portraits. The truth is, there’s no going back to the big (or little) moments on your wedding day. You get one shot and that’s it.
Once a couple reaches out to me about shooting their wedding, I have an in-depth conversation to get to know my couples and their style. We go over what types of photos matter the most and what you consider the priority shots. Everyone is different and my wedding packages are tailored to each couples’ specific wants and needs. Once that is established, I get to work on the wedding timeline. I keep my couples on a strict schedule to make sure that we make the time to capture every beautiful moment you’ve requested.
Most of my wedding shoots are 8+ hours. This breaks down to roughly 100 photos for each hour that I’m present with you. I also offer a second shooter to those interested to give different perspectives of your wedding day and nothing goes unnoticed. Shooting the photos themselves is just the beginning! My work continues with culling the images (believe me when I say you don’t actually want to see every photo.) I then add in some light editing to give you the gallery of your dreams!
Photography is a passion of mine that began years ago! For the last four years, I’ve focused mainly on wedding and engagement photography in the Jacksonville area. During that time, I’ve attended at least one workshop annually to learn all the new trends and tricks. When you’re pouring your hard-earned dollars into your wedding, you’re going to want that night to live in more than just your memories. These are potential heirlooms that your children and grandchildren will be looking at for years to come. That’s an investment worth making!
As I said, the recession has affected everyone and I completely understand needing to tighten purse strings while still trying for the wedding of your dreams. To accommodate this, I offer hourly rates as well. This is perfect for couples who are looking to spend a little less change on their wedding photos but still want them to be done professionally and with a lot of heart. Whatever you do, when it comes to wedding photography, be sure to include it in your budget.
I want to help you celebrate this monumental occasion in your lives and your love story. Message me here to get the process started! Don’t be shy, I love becoming friends with my clients! And don’t forget to follow along on Pinterest for more inspiration.
